DEVELOPMENT OF THE GOMOTION^TM LITEVEST^TM BASED ON NEED FOR BETTER LIGHTING FOR RUNNERS AT NIGHT

The History of the Product
The GoMotion™ LiteVest™, scheduled for launch at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market (Booth# 73011), is the result of a passion for the outdoors, a bit of ingenuity and problem solving, combined with the desire to be active outside within the constraints of the typical work day. GoMotion co-founder Jonathan Craig, an avid runner, was resigned to getting in his daily run after normal work hours. This required him to run in generally low-light conditions or at night. With few street lights and numerous tall trees, running after work with adequate light was a challenge. Tired of wearing an uncomfortable headlamp and frustrated with its limited usefulness, Craig fashioned a then state-of-the art incandescent lens (c.1999) onto a hand-carved wood chest plate and tied it to his torso using a rope harness. He mounted it over his chest as this offered the most stable lighting platform and the part of the body that moves the least when running. With the development of this device, he'd created the inspiration for the LiteVest™ LED and vest design: a highly functional, hands-free, lighting device for runners.

The Company
In 2006, Craig and co-founder Bob Hunnewell launched GoMotion, Inc. Working with a team of engineers and designers, they created a product line of body-mounted lighting systems for active outdoors people. Designed with trail-runners, street runners, Nordic skiers, hikers, and walkers in mind, GoMotion products are revolutionizing the Outdoor Recreation industry.

The Products
At the heart of the GoMotion™ product line, which includes the LiteVest™ and LiteBelt™, is GoMotion's patent-pending Core-Beam™ technology. Innovative and stylish, the Core-Beam™ design provides a high output light mounted in a comfortable and stable location making it far more effective as a lighting source for active outdoor enthusiasts than headlamps, flashlights, and other traditional outdoor recreational lighting sources.

CoreBeam™ technology incorporates the use of a high-output, low-profile LED with multiple functions including adjustable beam angle, wide ranging beam width control, and three brightness level options attached to performance packs, vests, and belts. All are made of breathable mesh and high tech fabrics offering unparalleled comfort and flexibility.
